ETRX2-PA ZigBee Module with Power Amp
Exceptional ZigBee functionality with power amp for increased range
The Telegesis ETRX2-PA offers boosted output power whilst being a drop in replacement for the standard ETRX2. Care was taken to retain the low deep sleep current to make this module ideally suited for battery operated end devices with the lowest transmit current in its class.
Based on the Ember EM250 single chip ZigBee solution utilizing EmberZNet 2.xx meshing technology, it has been designed for fast integration into any device without the need for RF experience and expertise.
Unlike many other module command layers the Telegesis AT-Style command set fully mirrors the functionality of the EmberZNet mesh networking stack. With the ETRX2 module there is therefore no requirement for any embedded firmware expertise when engineering your mesh networking solution.

ZigBee Ethernet Access Point |
ZigBee ETRX2 Ethernet Access Point

ETRX2 EAP Ethernet Access Point |
The Ethernet Access Point is a “gateway” allowing access to ETRX2 mesh networking modules via an industry standard Ethernet IP Network. Once the IP address of the EAP has been established and Firewall access set walls , the EAP can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
The EAP-E is also available in a Power Amplified form – see ETRX2-PA for range & specification details
For example, multiple EAPs can be deployed, each connected via Ethernet to a ZigBee PAN in different parts of the building.
For faster production development the device carries the Telegesis AT Style Command line interface which allows the quick integration of meshing radio technology without complex programming or RF design experience.
EAP Features
- Combines a Telegesis ETRX2 module with a Incorporates a Lantronix serial to Ethernet bridge
- Complete TCP/IP protocol stack and Windows deployment software
- Interface: Ethernet 10Base-T or 100Base-TX (Auto-Sensing)
- Protocols: TCP/IP, UDP/IP, ARP, ICMP, TFTP, Telnet, Auto IP, DHCP
- Link and activity indicator (LED)
- Management: Telnet and Microsoft Windows®-based utility for configuration
- Can offer access to the remote AT-Command Inteface via a serial Com port.
- SIF interface for Custom application development and real time debugging of custom firmware.
- External power supply required
Uses
- Remote diagnostics and upgrades
- Networked remote monitoring and control
- Remote data acquisition - e.g. temperature monitoring
- Bridging between ZigBee and Ethernet
Windows software
As a helpful starting point for developers, Telegesis supplies the simple Telegesis Terminal Application with the EAP. Device deployment and network initiation are simplified with Dynamic Host Protocol Support (DHCP) and additional IP configuration methods via the included Windows®-based Lantronix DeviceInstaller software.
The supported Com Port Redirector (CPR) software maps ‘virtual COM' ports on a PC platform and redirects application data destined to an attached device. Rather than going out of the local COM port, the data is transmitted across the Ethernet network to/from the Lantronics XPort Direct using TCP/IP. CPR is also licensed as an API to OEMs for incorporation into their applications on non-PC platforms such as a web pad or PDA.
When ordering please note that an external power supply is available at additional cost.
OEM format
The EAP is also available as an OEM product:
Without the Telegesis AT command set - use Ember's Development Kit to develop your own firmware application.
With or without plastic case.
Your own Logo or artwork printed straight onto the plastic case.

ZigBee Router |
ZigBee ETRX2 Router

ETRX2 Router |
The Telegesis Router-E enables increased distance between nodes in a ZigBee network.
For example, if the distance between two nodes is too great for communication to be established, place one or more Routers in-between and the mesh will self-form. A Router has the same distance parameters as a Telegesis module.
Router Features
* Incorporates a Telegesis ZigBee module
* External power supply required (please note that an external power supply is available at additional cost).
Typical Uses
* To allow extended distance between nodes in a ZigBee network
OEM availability
The Telegesis Router is also available as an OEM product and can be suppplied in the following ways:
- Without the Telegesis AT command set - it's fully feasible to use Ember's Development Kit to develop custom firmware solutions. click here for further information.
- With or without plastic cases.
- Your own logo and artwork printed straight onto the plastic case.
