GATETEL Offers GSM/GPRS/GPS Terminal Solution with Python Scripting Option

GateTel, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, offers the EZ863-GPS-PY Terminal which is complete Modem GPS and GSM solution based on Telit’s GE863-GPS module.  The EZ863-GPS-PY Terminal comes with an embedded Python script interpreter which allows for custom programming.  It also has 24 pins connector for GPIO and can be directly controlled by a standard 9 pins serial RS232 interface. A USB to RS232 interface cable is also available from GLYN as an extra accessory option. The terminal supply voltage range is from 5-30V DC.  EZ863-GPS-PY is RoHS compliant and is a universal solution for all M2M applications.

EDT Releases 4.3” TFT LCD Displays

EDT, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, introduces its new 4.3” TFT LCD displays with 480W (RGB) x 272H dots resolution. Module size (W x H x T) is 105.5 x 67.2 x 5.1 mm while viewing area is 100 x 57.9 mm.  With white background colour and LED backlight, the module has a high brightness spec of 450 cd/m2 (typ).  Touch panel option is also available. The LCD controller/driver is HIMAX 8655/8227 with the datasheets available from GLYN.  A 40-pin interface is provided which includes digital RGB888, HSync, VSync, Clk, and Display On/Off signals, and supply lines 2.5V VCC and 5V AVDD.

URT Releases 7” TFT LCD Displays with LVDS Interface

Consumers are demanding more realistic video, 3-D graphics and photo-realistic images in the office and in the home. Solutions exist today to move this high-speed digital data both on very short and very long distances: on a printed circuit board (PCB) and across fibre or satellite networks. New 433MHz Radio Modules for Simplified Wireless Networking

TRL-Funksysteme GmbH, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, introduces its 433MHz IRIS radio modules for simplified wireless networking.  A typical IRIS system consists of a group of IRIS units arranged in a tree structure connected to each other by radio. The top unit is the concentrator in the system and the connection to end-user via, e.g. a serial interface, a web-module or a GSM-module. The other units in the system are connected to various electronic equipments via I/O and serial interface or acts as repeaters to enable communication over longer distances. New 2.8” Active OLED from CMEL

BLUEGIGA Releases iWRAP 3.0 Beta Firmware for WT11 and WT12 Bluetooth Modules

An evaluation version of new iWRAP firmware for Bluegiga’s WT11 and WT12 Bluetooth modules is now available via special request from GLYN High Tech Distribution. iWRAP 3.0 beta will introduce several additional functions such as Bluetooth HID and DI profiles and remote configuration over a Bluetooth link.

New Vinculum VDIP2 USB Host Evaluation Module from FTDI

FTDI, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, has released a new version of the VDIP module with two USB connectors to allow for easier prototyping of applications requiring two full-speed USB host/slave interfaces.

The VDIP2 module is an MCU to embedded USB host controller development module for the VNC1L IC device. The VDIP2 is supplied on a PCB designed to fit into a 40 pin DIP socket, and provides access to the UART, parallel FIFO, and SPI interface pins on the VNC1L device, via its AD and AC bus pins. All other Vinculum I/O pins are also accessible. Not only is it ideal for developing and rapid prototyping of VNC1L designs, but also an attractive quantity discount structure makes this module suitable for incorporation into low and medium volume finished product designs.

JENNIC Launches ZigBee e-Learning Website

Chi Mei Group from Taiwan, a leading manufacturer of Displays, has chosen GLYN GmbH & Co. KG as their distribution and support partner for OLED-Displays (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) in Europe, Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.

Chi Mei EL Corporation (CMEL), a subsidiary of Chi Mei Group, specialises in the production of small and medium-sized OLED panels. Well-known cell phone manufacturers are among the company’s key customers.

CMEL focuses on Active Matrix OLED products (AM-OLED) and produces these displays in sizes ranging from 2” to 2.8”. A new 4.3” version will go into production this year.

CYAN's New eCOG1X USB Core Offers USB2.0 Peripheral, Host and On The Go Functionality Without an External PHY

Cyan Technology, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, launches a functional USB core to its family of low-power, feature rich 16-bit microcontrollers, the eCOG1X range. With minimal external components the eCOG1X USB device can act as a USB2.0 full-speed (12Mbs) device in host, peripheral or On The Go (OTG) modes. High-speed (480Mbs) data rates can also be achieved by adding a low-cost external ULPI PHY. MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC Introduces 3.5 GHz band 30 W GaAs FET for WiMAX Base Station Power Amplifier

WiMAX is expected to become the standard in high-speed broadband wireless communication systems that provide higher mobile data transmission and expanding local wireless networks. FTDI Introduces the DLP-232PC Data Acquisition Module

FTDI, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, announces the availability of the DLP-232PC Data Acquisition Module which is ideal for data acquisition, industrial/process control, and process monitoring applications.

The DLP-232PC is a low-cost, easy-to-use data acquisition module for measuring voltages, controlling and monitoring processes, and acquiring temperature data. Each of the 14 available channels can be configured for digital I/O, or temperature modes via single-byte commands. FTDI Announces VDRIVE2 and VMUSIC2 Vinculum USB Host Controller Development Modules

FTDI, available through GLYN High-Tech Distribution, is pleased to announce the availability of two new development modules based on the VNC1L Vinculum embedded USB host controller IC.  Using FTDI's Vinculum firmware, the VDRIVE2 can be used to add USB Flash disk connectivity to virtually any system, allowing files to be written directly to a USB Flash disk.  The VMUSIC2 module provides all the functionality of the VDRIVE2, but uses an extended version of FTDI's VDAP firmware with a VLSI VS1003 IC to allow MP3 file playback directly from a USB Flash disk.

FTDI VMUSIC1 Module Easily Adds USB Flash Drive Interface and Audio Playback to Products 

FTDI, available from Glyn High-Tech Distribution, introduces the VMUSIC1 evaluation module for its Vinculum VNC1L family of embedded USB Host Controller devices.

The VMUSIC1 evaluation module is a product which not only lets you add USB Flash disk interfacing to your product, but also allows you to play back MP3 and other popular digital music formats directly from a USB flash disk. Extensions to the Vinculum VDIF firmware command set allow you to play a selected file, as well as control the volume, balance, etc. of the sound channel, and monitor the status of the file being played. The Vinculum VDIF firmware also allows the VNC1L-1A’s I/O interface to be selected between the serial UART or SPI using on-board jumper pins.
