TDK InvenSense’s barometric pressure sensors use an innovative capacitive MEMS architecture to deliver lower power consumption and lower noise than competing technologies. The SmartPressure products can measure height change as small as 5 cm, less than the height of a single stair step.

With its industry-leading measurement accuracy and ultra-low power operation for always-on applications, the SmartPressure product family is best suited for smart phones, tablets, wearables, drones, and many other devices to determine accurate location of E911 calls, track changes in elevation for activity monitoring, support indoor or 3D navigation, and other motion- or position-based services.

The SmartPressure product family includes support for waterproofing to 10 ATM.

APPLICATIONS

Wearable Fitness Monitoring

Support for IPX8 waterproofing protects the device up to 10 ATM. This will offer a new level of device confidence in this ever-ruggedizing industry, and is perfect for tracking all kinds of fitness activity.

E911

With its accurate measurement and low power consumption, our pressure sensors enables support for E911 service for Smartphone, Tablets and other mobile devices. It easily exceeds the +/-3m height accuracy (e.g., floor determination) specified by FCC for E911 (emergency) calls.

Drones

With waterproofing and small footprints our MEMS pressure sensors are great for the needs of drones, which require the most efficient ratio of weight to power distribution, and operate in various weather conditions.

Products Details:

ICP-10125

The ICP-10125 pressure sensor is based on MEMS capacitive technology which provides ultra-low noise at the lowest power, enabling industry leading relative accuracy, sensor throughput, and temperature stability. The pressure sensor can measure pressure differences with an accuracy of ±1 Pa, an accuracy enabling altitude measurement differentials as small as 8.5 cm, less than the height of a single stair step.

Consuming only 1.3 μA @1 Hz, the device is available in a small footprint 3.55 × 3.55 × 1.45 mm chimney package with waterproofing gel providing IPx8 waterproofing to 10 ATM. The ICP-10125 is ideally suited for wearable fitness monitoring and battery powered IoT.

The ICP-10125 offers an industry leading temperature coefficient offset of ±0.5 Pa/ºC. The combination of high accuracy, low power, temperature stability, waterproofing in a small footprint enables higher performance barometric pressure sensing for sports activity identification and mobile indoor/outdoor navigation.

DK-10125

The DK-10125 is a comprehensive development platform for ICP-10125, a High Accuracy, Low Power, Waterproof Barometric Pressure and Temperature Sensor IC. The platform designed around Microchip G55 MCU can be used by developers for rapid evaluation and development of ICP-10125 based solutions.

The DK-10125 includes an on-board Embedded Debugger so external tools are not required to program or debug the G55 MCU.

The development kit comes with necessary software including InvenSense MotionLink, a GUI based development tool and embedded Motion Drivers for ICP-10125. Embedded Motion Drivers (eMD) consists of a set of APIs to configure various aspects of the platform including ICP-10125 sensor parameters such as Raw Data, and Calibrated Data (Temp in C, Pressure in Pa).

MotionLink is a GUI based development tool included with the platform. It can be used to capture and visualize the sensor data from the motion sensor.
